Our Lenten services are different each year as we have our intern Pastor plan the weekly service. Because of this variety, Power Point presentations have been used is help convey the message of the week. They are not used every week as some of the services it would not be appropriate. When they are used, it is as a back drop to the main action.
Our Lentan services often involve members acting based on a Lentan script or sharing personal stories.

Each year we have a Good Friday Service (not exactly a Lenten!) service It's a mixture of songs readings meditations and sharing bread and wine following a theme. The program is entirely scripted and everyone is given a programme so the whole time can flow without anyone acting as chairman or as the person 'in charge'. Even though we are around 2/300 we sit on three sides of a square with the communion table in the centre and the screen on the open side, giving a great sense of meeting with Jesus in the centre. Songs are introduced by the musicians alone. Individuals lead in prayers (preplanned) from where they sit/stand. We use a few (not too many) sensitive media clips. Some still images (or very slow moving scans of stills) form a backdrop to some segments. As everyone has a full programme in their hands it can proceed without rush or introduction. It is important to keep the focus on Jesus/ the cross etc. with not much emphasis on 'me'. It is a very moving moving time.

We used it as a backdrop to everything else. We ran a video that featured only images at a slow pace--there were no words, no text of any kind. It would have distracted from what we were doing.
