Look into the new remote control LEDs that fit into standard lights such as par cans. These can change color with the flick of a switch with no need for complicated computerized controls and if i remember correctly they were cheap. Not only will they give you more control than you've ever had over a par can, but they will last a long time and won't burn you every time you try to move them. I first saw them in CCI Solutions magazine but I'm sure they're all over the place.
