the clue to "getting the point" is that these are parodies meant to make us look at ourselves - Jesus used the same tactic to make people look at themselves. Well done. It's not really hard to get the point.

Mac-PC commercials are notably manipulative, elitist, age-ist and deceptive - intended to entice one to buy a greatly overhyped and overpriced product to be cool and contemporary. I am not thrilled to see Christians (excuse me, I should say "Christ Folowers") emulating their techniques.

So if I cast off the title of "Christian" and instead use the definition of Christian as my title, I somehow become enlightened and truer to the faith........right? And I guess I can't wear a coat and tie to church and call myself a Christ-Follower.....huh? I don't think so. I don't argue with the need for discussions on what it means to truly be Christ followers, but this Christ-Follower (hip dude with all the answers) throwing stones at the Christian (fatally flawed nerd) approach is not the way to do it. The end effect of the "Christian-Christ Follower" double-speak is most likely confusion (might I even suggest some contempt, possibly) on the part of unbelievers/seekers who view the videos and a widening of the gap between the traditional and contemporary camps within congregations. These productions miss the mark and are demeaning at best and mean spirited at worst. Please consider pulling them from distribution.
