This pretty much says it. We have lost the idea of body unity that Jesus encouraged. We have gone for the big off the map view. And I agree, what in the world are we doing with smoke machines in a service unless for drama. Thats the kind of stuff, that and the flashing lights, and melodramatics that I got saved out of in the 70's. Well done men. Message received. Be genuine. Look for the new and show yourself friendly.

A fascinating insight that deserves the serious attention for 'Church Professionals' like myself. We easily get caught up in our own 'stuff' of what we believe or have discerned to be God's purpose for our lives and respective church community. Jim and Matt reminds me to look again from the perspective of whom we are called to serve as part of offering 'the real thing'. Thanks for the attempt to be culturally inclusive. That may be something to be more intentional in your next book. The book is a 'fresh' read....simply refreshing! Thanks much...
