Top 10 NEW Easter Videos
The best new media for this significant holiday season.

Easter Sunday brings people to church who don't plan to show up again until Christmas or next Easter. Videos provide a unique opportunity to connect with these rare attenders—speaking through a medium with which our culture is quite familiar. Good videos leave a lasting impression—even with people who will put up walls if they're approached by someone at church.

PreachingToday's FaithVisuals has a large collection of Easter videos, but this year's crop of brand new Easter videos was so strong, we wanted to highlight the best of the new arrivals to help you find the perfect video for your service. Because the videos are so different, ranking them was impossible. So, in no particular order, here are ten of our best new Easter videos:

Top 10 NEW Videos

He Was Crucified—Beamer Films

Bookended by two verses from the gospel of John, this video contains stark images of Jesus' crucifixion, with music and flashing lightning setting the mood throughout—until the end, after the text has made it clear that Jesus did all this so that "we might be SAVED," when we hear the subtle chirping of birds. If you're looking for an Easter video accompanied by text on the screen, this is a great option.

Resurrection—Hyper Pixels Media

In many ways, this mini-movie from Hyper Pixels Media (formerly known as "Chris McGowan") is similar to Beamer Films' "He Was Crucified." "Resurrection" also portrays the Easter story in epic form—although this one begins with Jesus praying in Gethsemane and leads up to the risen Christ at the end. If you prefer videos without on-screen text, this might be exactly what you want.

Mystery—The Work of the People

Of all the new videos, "Mystery" might be the most artistic and most unique. Instead of portraying a death and resurrection (well, at least not in the expected way), "Mystery" alternates between shots of a female ballet dancer and a priest breaking bread and pouring out wine. Accompanying these images is the music of worship leader Charlie Hall. The result is stunning—beautiful and powerful.

The Wonderful Cross—Steelehouse

This video features the vocals of Chris Tomlin (with Matt Redman), singing the popular praise song, "The Wonderful Cross." Paired with images of Christ's crucifixion, this combination creates a poignant and precise message that fades out with these words on the screen: "Jesus is calling you to surrender your life … at the foot of the wonderful cross."

A Story of Life—Floodgate Productions

Narrated in the same soothing—yet powerful—voice that has become familiar to those who admire Floodgate's consistently high-quality videos, this video's message—that our story, like the Easter story, is a story about life—is clear and succinct. And it's a great choice for your church on Easter Sunday. (Or you might want to check out the new Easter version of Floodgate's popular "Welcome to our Church" video: Easter: Welcome to Our Church.)
